Upon arrival at the airport, your guide will warmly greet you and transfer you to Volcanoes National Park. The scenic drive offers views of Rwanda’s rolling hills, lush landscapes, and traditional villages. This journey provides a relaxing start to your adventure, allowing you to appreciate the beauty of the region before your gorilla trekking experience.
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing on the gorilla trekking experience, including registration and group allocation. Afterward, begin your trek into the jungle in search of the mountain gorillas. The trek may take 2-4 hours, depending on the gorilla group’s location. Once you encounter the gorillas, you will have one hour to observe and capture photos. Afterward, return to the briefing point, then transfer to your lodge for check-in, dinner, and an overnight stay
After breakfast, you will depart for Lake Kivu, a stunning freshwater lake surrounded by picturesque hills. Upon arrival, embark on a relaxing boat cruise that offers scenic views of the lake and its surrounding landscapes, including nearby islands and vibrant local communities. As you glide along the water, you may spot various bird species and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
After the boat cruise, you’ll proceed to Rubavu, a charming city located along the shores of Lake Kivu. Here, you’ll take a guided city tour, exploring the vibrant markets, local culture, and stunning lakeside views. Discover the unique charm of Rubavu, with its rich history and lively atmosphere. After the tour, you will have free time to explore or relax before transferring back to your lodge.
After breakfast, you will depart for Nyungwe National Park, known for its lush rainforests and diverse wildlife. Upon arrival, embark on the canopy walk, an exhilarating experience that takes you high above the forest floor, offering stunning views of the surrounding jungle and the chance to spot various bird species, monkeys, and other wildlife. The walk offers a unique perspective of Nyungwe’s rich biodiversity and natural beauty.
After the canopy walk, you will transfer back to Kigali, enjoying the scenic drive through Rwanda’s picturesque countryside. As you pass rolling hills, verdant landscapes, and traditional villages, you’ll reflect on the highlights of your journey. Arriving in Kigali, you will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport to conclude your memorable adventure.
